Bram van der Heijden joined BexerHamstra as a consultant in April 2022, after having worked there as a student, contributing to various digital projects. He has a bachelor’s degree in Econometrics & Operations Research and a master’s degree in Quantitative Finance & Actuarial Science, both from Tilburg University, the Netherlands. While still in college, he did an internship at Aegon, working as a data analyst.

‘It is interesting to explain complicated matters, and satisfying when you are understood. Right from when I started in college I tutored high school students in maths. And I found that a good explanation can make the difference.

I also like solving puzzles in the background, calculating the costs and impact of pension schemes for instance. Pensions being my specialization, I support clients who need questions answered, and provide advice on the transitions involved in the Pension Agreement (in Dutch, Pensioenakkoord) that is soon to be introduced.

My studies were rather quantitatively oriented, with calculating and computer programming the most important skills required. At BexerHamstra I can see what really goes on in pensions, what consulting work is like in practice and how I can contribute. And it is captivating work to discuss pension changes with all parties involved, and support them from start to finish.’
